Suicide and the Older Adult presented by Joanna Frankel MSW, LCSW-C. When someone dies by suicide it’s always a tragic event, not just the individual but also for families and the community at large. Suicide impacts middle aged and older adults die by suicide more than any other age group. This program will cover causes, risk factors, and best practices for screening and preventing suicide in the older adult. Also addressed will be the very real phenomenon of suicide contagion and when high-profile stories and media events can contribute to risk.
