About Shari Haber

Shari Haber is a former Communications executive who led consumer product PR for Sony and helped Amazon and Priceline launch online commerce. Her experience creating awareness for new technology products and business models often involved educating the market before creating consumer demand.

Shari feels the same is true about death care planning today: “People need to understand their options for a ‘better death’ and how it can contribute to a ‘well life’ before they can take action.” Her interest in end of life issues and funerals began a decade later when she endeavored to write a TV script about Baby Boomers, and read about the growing death positive movement and the idea of dying well. She founded My Great Goodbye to help people increase their death literacy, so they can make informed decisions and advance plan to die better and be remembered best.
She’s curated the dizzying number of new and traditional funeral, burial and memorial options to make some of the hard decisions easier to consider.

In My Great Goodbye’s Death Prep sessions, she'll do a Decisions and Documents audit to ensure your legal, financial, medical affairs — and your digital estate — are in order. She’ll also cover considerations for personal care and comfort in your final days, ideas for designing a meaningful funeral/memorial/life celebration, green and/or traditional body disposition choices, legacy projects and post-death remembrances and communications.

She also can research the local availability and costs of the options you favor and develop an actionable plan that can serve as a roadmap for your personalized goodbye.

Shari is a Trustee of the Funeral Consumers Alliance of Northern New Jersey, a volunteer member of the New Jersey Health Care QUALITY INSTITUTE Conversations of Your Life (COYL) Task Force, and a member of the Association for Death Education and Counseling.
